The Second Edition of the European Regional Symposium on the Use of Spatial Data for Agriculture and Tourism, held in Matera, concluded with a special event at the SPARKme Museum. Organized by the NEREUS network (Network of European Regions Using Space Technologies) in collaboration with the Basilicata Region, the symposium brought together European institutions, technology companies, research bodies and local stakeholders to discuss the concrete applications of satellite technologies in the agricultural and tourism sectors. Openet, a Lucanian company with solid experience in the field of satellite telecommunications and the development of satellite applications, participated in the works, confirming that the company's mission is perfectly in line with the objectives of the event: integrating technology, innovation and sustainability to support the digital transition of territories through the strategic use of data from space.
On the sidelines of the event, Openet Technologies had the honor of hosting an official delegation from NEREUS for a guided tour of the SPARKme Space Academy and the Science Museum of Matera, two entities strongly linked to the development of the space economy and the promotion of scientific culture on the territory.
The visit represented a symbolic moment of connection between innovation, territory, and European cooperation.
Openet thus strengthens its strategic role in the space ecosystem, acting as a bridge between technology and local development.
The Matera experience confirms the importance of networking to address future challenges with concrete and shared solutions.
