Openet brings the SPARKme model to Kenya: technology and innovation for sustainable development

Openet, a leading Italian satellite telecommunications company, is expanding its SPARKme model to Africa, bringing a technological innovation project with high social impact to Kenya. The initiative was born in Nairobi, at the E4Impact Foundation's Business Accelerator, where Openet launched a technology transfer program inspired by the experience of the SPARKme Accelerator in Matera. Born from Openet's vision, SPARKme has established itself in Italy as a leading hub for innovation applied to the use of satellite data. Today, thanks to this experience, the model is proving replicable internationally, contributing to sustainable development in emerging areas. In Nairobi, local startups can now access advanced satellite technologies, with concrete solutions for connectivity and data monitoring, even in areas with limited digital infrastructure. It's not just about technology, but about co-creation: the SPARKme model is based on collaboration, cross-fertilization, and shared growth. A concrete example is the partnership with Lentera, a Kenyan agricultural startup, which has developed a precision agriculture system with Openet capable of monitoring temperature and humidity inside greenhouses. The result? Greater efficiency, less waste, and more sustainable crops.
This initiative confirms SPARKme's international vocation as a flexible and exportable model of local innovation, capable of generating value where access to technology is still limited. The collaboration with E4Impact strengthens Openet's role as a key player in global digital transformation.
Kenya is just the first step: the SPARKme model is now looking to new territories and challenges, with the goal of creating an international network capable of providing expertise, tools, and solutions where innovation can truly make a difference.
