CLARA

The project is CLARA (Climate forecast enabled knowledge services), an initiative funded by the European Union under the Horizon 2020 programme, dedicated to the development of services climate innovative to support the different sectors in the planning and management of risks related to climate change.

The main objective was to transform the climate data in the value added services, customized and usable in other contexts, such as agriculture, water resource management, urban planning and civil protection.

Openet has had a significant role in the the development of digital platforms, cloud-based for the distribution of services climate, paying special attention to the user interface, the integration of the forward-looking information and interactive visualization. The solutions have allowed users of public and private access to weather information that is understandable and operational, facilitating decision-making processes based on scientific evidence.

In parallel, Openet has participated in the national version of the project CLARA, which is funded by the MIUR in the framework of the call “Smart Cities " National”, with a total cost of approximately 22 million euros and a duration of 27 months. This initiative had the goal of creating a cloud platform for imaging underground through smart technologies, with a focus on natural hazards such as landslides and seismic risk.

In the national project, Openet has contributed to the integration of the advanced sensors, remote sensing, 3D imaging and geological data and geomorfologic, i aimed to improve the knowledge of the territory and to support the public decision-makers in urban planning and infrastructure management.

A key element of the project was the adoption of paradigms, open data and open government, in order to promote transparency and the sharing of information, involving the citizens in the monitoring of the phenomena of risk.

The territorial trials are carried out in the Municipalities of Ferrara, Matera and province of Enna, with the objective to validate the technological solutions in real contexts and diverse.

Thanks to the participation in the project CLARA, Openet Technologies has strengthened its expertise in the field of climate services digital of environmental monitoring smart andinnovation for sustainable urban, confirming its position as a technology partner in strategic projects to support the resilience of the territory.
