For the first time, in Matera (IT), Openet Technologies hosts in the SPARKme Space Academy on 03 and 04 June 2022, the “marathon” of creativity and innovation in which participants with different backgrounds and experiences collaborate in small teams, imagining, in just 24 hours, new solutions for the Space Defense of tomorrow.
After the success of the first edition in 2021 (118 participants, 29 teams, 3 cities and 2 winning projects), the 2nd edition of this event, conceived by the French Space Command and managed by the Aerospace Valley competitiveness cluster, will take place simultaneously in several French engineering schools (Toulouse / ISAE, Bordeaux / Arts et Métiers, Lyon / Institut d’Etudes de Stratégie de Défense, Salon-de-Provence / Ecole de l’Air…) and for the first time, in 3 European countries: Bulgaria, Cyprus and Italy.
In each country, after the 24 hours of hackathon, a jury composed of members from different backgrounds (schools, industries, academia and Armed Forces) will study the projects and choose the 2 teams that will participate in the international semi-finals.
The international final will take place on June 28 in Paris and the winning team will have the opportunity to witness the launch of a rocket and its satellites at the Space Center in Kourou, French Guiana.
DefInSpace is open to everyone and participation in the Hackathon is free: starting from April 22, 2022, students, enthusiasts of the aerospace sector, startups that work in the field and want to get involved, can register for the event at the link:
