The offer of technological services of satellite connectivity guarantees coverage of a wide range of infrastructural needs of international bodies and organizations operating in vast territorial areas of Europe, Africa and Asia.
The satellite network makes available:
- Broadband Internet access,
- Virtual Private Network (VPN)
- Il Voice over IP (VoIP),
- The mobile satellite communication system
- La TV/broadcast,
- IP Multicast Transmission
- Content distribution: point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and SCPC.
Le applicazioni della banda larga via satellite, oltre alla connessione permanente a Internet, sono molteplici:
- creation of IP streaming services (audio/video)
- connection of temporary sensory detection stations for territorial control
- backup services in case of failure on the terrestrial network
- short-term connections for events or emergencies.
Based on the service needs and the territorial location data of the network nodes to be connected, Openet designs and proposes the appropriate technological mix – satellite, terrestrial devices, connectivity – organizing the installation phases, managing the remote control of the terminals and the technical support to local operators.
Satellite coverage, extended to entire continental areas, is guaranteed by agreements stipulated with the major global operators (SES, Eutelsat), managers of fleets of geostationary telecommunications satellites with transponders operating in the C, Ku and Ka bands.
Operating on different frequency bands allows the use of devices consisting of antennas of variable diameter: from less than 1 m (Ku, Ka) up to 2.4 m (Vsat in C band)
The devices, light and easy to install, can reach areas that are difficult to access, such as mountainous and low-population areas, factors that often make the expansion of terrestrial communication lines economically disadvantageous.
Connections are supported by TCP acceleration, 3DES encryption, QoS priority, and a high transmission speed that reaches bitrates of 18 Mbps download flow and 4.2 Mbps upload.
