OPENET GROUP takes part in the tender value of 10milion Euro “Space in response to Covid-19 Outbreak in Italy”, promoted by ESA and supported by ASI.

The OPENET Technologies S.p.A Group, Matera’s company with over twenty years of presence on the ICT / TLC market led by its founder Vito Gaudiano, has created an innovative European Outreach Education platform: CLASS @ CROSS.

In response to the harsh backlash suffered by the tourism and cultural system and following the closure arranged to contain the spread of the infection, with the 10 million Euro call for “Space in Response to COVID-19 Outbreak in Italy”, promoted by the European Space Agency (ESA) and supported by the Italian Space Agency (ASI), in agreement with the Minister for Technological Innovation and Digitization, the State Undersecretariat to the Prime Minister with responsibility for Space Policies, the Community was asked The development of solutions for new teaching methodologies and the fruition of cultural activities: among the 150 proposals received, the proposal of the OPENET Group was selected the first in terms of its competitiveness and its high technological contribution.

Thanks to the use of the most advanced technologies used by OPENET such as artificial intelligence and Extended Reality for teaching in innovative learning environments, the CLASS @ CROSS multilingual platform creates video / broadcast production areas within museum structures, places of historical, scientific and cultural interest, this system allows you to create and manage interactive educational visits.

The CLASS @ CROSS solution in fact offers the possibility of making real “live experiences”, also guaranteeing the presence of sector experts, guides, actors who interact interactively with the participants. The Outreach Education tool represents an effective added value to ensure the expansion of the educational offer through high quality programs and resources for schools: with CLASS @ CROSS students and teachers can interact by facilitating “virtual” social interactions in order to remain connect with their friends and classmates.

The interactions with the guides during the tours represent the added value compared to the virtual tours already available on the market offered by multiple platforms / channels, where until now the only possibility to use the contents was the “passive” way.
