The realization of a satellite telecommunication network in Mali: this is the objective of the important agreement signed between Openet and the Fondation Hirondelle – Media for Peace and human dignity -, the organization of journalists established in 1995,
with headquarters in Lausanne in Switzerland, which creates and supports independent media in crisis zones to develop an independent, non-partisan, rigorous and comprehensive information, wich, through specific products, aims at the promotion of peace.
The service agreement, which Openet has signed with the Hirondelle Foundation, has an initial duration of 12 months and involves the design and installation of a satellite connectivity network for 26 sites in Mali.
At a later stage, the network will expand up to a total of 60 radio stations. This agreement represents a new important step in the consolidation of relevant role of Openet in the development of satellite telecommunications for the media on the African continent.
