Openet and the Proximity Radio Federation of the Democratic Republic of the Congo – local contact AMARC , the World Association of Community Radio broadcasters – founded in 2006 in the Congo with eleven provincial networks and almost four hundred radio stations, signed a new partnership agreement, which aims to create a telecommunications network to support rural radios.
After the first phase of the project (pilot project) , which was tested on nine radio stations in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the new agreement signed by Openet and the Proximity Radio Federation of Radio Proximity of the Democratic Republic of Congo includes the involvement of fifty radio stations, with the objective in the medium and long term to extend the the services provided by Openet to all members of the radio circuit of the Federation.
For the Federation, the project is an opportunity to improve the services offered to the radio circuit , by developing their commercial potential, including the creation of the right synergies with partners, such as Openet, to secure experience in the field of telecommunications and multimedia communication services.
With the start of the new project phase, Openet consolidates the leadership in the field of the Educational satellite technologies applied in those areas of the African continent, in which the Company is already present from some time, as proven partner in providing services of telecommunication and multimedia in the construction and management of services and satellite telecommunications infrastructure, connectivity, creation of innovative communication tools and design of ‘new media’, as well as in the development of integrated systems, products and services of edutainment.
